The Theme for Book Week this Year is - Books light up our world
Our class has been working on the book - The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch with our Buddy Class - Rm 20. We have been revisiting concepts introduced in Science and Technology lessons. Students meet and work together on Tuesdays before lunch. They are designing a 3D model of the lighthouse with a light and pulley system. Students need to bring recycle materials to school and have worked out a list with their buddy.
Book Week Assembly on Friday 28th August
Students have worked out parts for our presentation revolving around The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch Book. More than half the class are involved in moving props or being part of the ocean consequently we have decided on students wearing all black or all blue clothing. We will then use strips of lighter blue crepe paper to make waves. Others in the presentation will be wearing "normal clothing" as people on a picnic, the lighthouse keeper and his wife. No costumes are needed. The 3 seagulls will be holding sticks with cardboard seagulls attached so they only need to wear black or blue. The cats can be dressed in black and we will make ears and add face make-up. We do need some large sheets of cardboard to make the lighthouse and house next week. If there are any further questions, please write a note in your child's diary. We are putting a new twist to the story by using Hip Hop music and the class is excited to present something unexpected.
